Privacy Policy

Effective · 2026-08-14

C25K is built by OcuNecu. It records your runs — including GPS routes and Apple Health workouts — and every bit of that stays on your device. We collect nothing and the app has no analytics or tracking. This policy explains how each part is handled.

We collect no data

C25K does not collect any information about you or your device. Not anonymously, not in aggregate, not for our own use. In particular, it does not collect:

  • Your IP address
  • Your operating system, device type, or any device identifier
  • Which screens you open, what you tap, or how long you use the app
  • Crash logs or diagnostic data
  • Your run routes, workouts, or health data
  • Your contacts, photos, calendar, or microphone input
  • Your name, email address, or any other personal detail

There is no analytics SDK, no tracking, no advertising, and no crash reporting in C25K. There are no accounts, no sign-in, and no servers of ours that receive your information, so there is nothing for us to store, sell, share, or lose. The app records a great deal about your training — all of it for you, on your device.

Location and run routes

If you allow it, C25K uses your device's GPS during a run to draw your route on a map and work out your distance and pace. Because a run does not stop when you lock your phone, iOS may ask to keep tracking while the app is in the background.

Route data is written to your device and stays there. It is never uploaded, never shared, and never seen by us — we have no server to send it to. The map your route is drawn on comes from Apple Maps, so drawing it involves requests to Apple, handled under Apple's privacy policy.

Location access is optional: decline it and the rest of the app works, minus the route map. You can revoke it at any time in Settings, and deleting a run deletes its route.

Apple Health

C25K can connect to the Health app, and only if you grant permission. With your permission it reads your completed running workouts, so your training history is accurate, and writes the runs you finish in the app back to Health.

Health data is exchanged solely between C25K and the Health app on your device. It is never transmitted to us or to anyone else, never used for advertising or marketing, and never sold or shared — we have no way to see it. You can review or withdraw C25K's Health permissions at any time in Settings › Privacy & Security › Health, and data written to Health can be deleted in the Health app.

No third parties

Apart from Apple's own Maps and Health services, described above, C25K uses no third-party services, SDKs, or analytics providers of any kind.

Apple may provide us with its own anonymised, aggregate App Store statistics — download counts and the like — if you have opted in to sharing them with developers in your device settings. That is data Apple collects under Apple's privacy policy, not something C25K collects, and it never identifies you.

What stays on your device

Anything you create in C25K — settings, progress, saved entries — is stored on your device only. If you use iCloud backup or device sync, a copy may live in your own iCloud account, which is under your control and Apple's privacy policy, not ours. We cannot see any of it.

Deleting the app removes the data it kept on your device. Because we hold nothing, there is nothing to request from us, and no data-deletion request to make.

Permissions

C25K asks for location and Apple Health access, both described above, and may ask for notifications so it can prompt you about a scheduled run. iOS asks you before granting any of them, each is optional, and you can withdraw any of them at any time in Settings. Anything accessed under such a permission is used on your device, for that feature, and is never transmitted to us.

If you email us

Support is the one place where we do end up with your information: if you write to us, we have your email address and whatever you put in the message. We use it only to answer you, we do not add you to any mailing list, and you can ask us to delete the correspondence at any time.

Children

C25K is not directed to children under 13. Since we collect no personal information from anyone, we collect none from children either.

Security

The strongest privacy protection is not holding data in the first place, which is the approach we have taken. For the support email we do receive, we apply reasonable safeguards to keep it protected.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the effective date at the top of this page. If C25K ever needed to collect something, we would say so here and in the app before it happened.
